If you're using natural soap, like my cold process soaps, I highly recommend using a soap saver disc. It's a simple way to extend the life of your soap bars and also helps prevent soap buildup on your shower/tub shelves.
Soap saver discs have several benefits, including:
They help natural soap bars last longer. When soap bars are left sitting in water, they can become soft and mushy, which can make them harder to use and can also lead to the growth of bacteria. Soap savers help to keep your cold process soap bars dry, which prevents them from becoming soft and mushy.
They prevent soap scum buildup. When bars of soap are used in a traditional soap dish, they can leave behind a residue of soap which builds up over time. Soap saver discs help to prevent soap buildup by keeping the soap bar from coming into direct contact with surfaces.
They can exfoliate the skin. Some soap saver discs have a textured surface that can help to remove dead skin cells and leave the skin feeling soft and smooth.

Full size: This size can hold one full size bar of cold process soap or two of the mini bars. The full size soap savers are made of a multi-directional bioplastic that allows water to drain and air to circulate. They clean up remarkably well by simply holding it under running water and giving it a few squeezes. Can be trimmed down to size to fit soap dishes if desired.
Mini size: This size nicely fits one of the mini bars but it can also be used for a full size bar of soap. The mini size soap savers are made from flexible clear plastic that allows water to drain and air to circulate. They can easily be rinsed clean by simply holding it under running water.
