Organic Chamomile Flowers

from $2.00

This is food grade Chamomile and safe for both internal and external use.

Scientific Name: Matricaria recutita
Plant Family: Asteraceae
Origin: Croatia

Spiritual and Energetic Uses: Drink Chamomile tea to calm anxiety and reduce negative feelings. Use in the bath to release pain, loss, or anger. Great for calming and centering.

Magickal Uses: Chamomile is an herb of purification and protection, and can be used in incense blends for sleep and meditation. It has been said that if you wash your hands in chamomile tea it will ensure good luck at the gaming tables if you gamble. In a number of folk magic traditions, chamomile is known as a lucky flower; make a garland to wear around your hair to attract a lover, or carry some in your pocket for general good fortune. Wards against psychic attack. Great to use in spells for purification, protection, healing, money, happiness, banishing, dreamwork, and divination.

Medicinal Uses: Chamomile is the best-selling and most widely used medicinal herb in the world. Chamomile tea calms the mind and the digestive system so it's great to drink before sleep to prepare you for a restful night. Drinking it during day helps to quiet the mind when things get stressful. If you have a runny nose, queasy stomach, or need a relaxing beverage before bed, chamomile tea may be just what you need. Externally, you can use chamomile for compresses, rinses, or gargles to treat inflammation and irritation. You can even add chamomile to your bath water to soothe skin conditions.

Culinary Uses: Chamomile tea is widely drank around the world and is delicious but that's not all you can use it for. Create chamomile infused cocktails by turning the flowers into a simple syrup or infusing spirits themselves. The bright yellow centers have a mild, apple-like flavor so you can brown a few crushed or dried chamomile flowers in hot butter, then stir them into oatmeal or other hot cereal. Infuse chamomile flowers in almond oil and use the infused oil for salads or mix it in mayonnaise to add flavor to sandwiches.
